Your Questions

What makes Galligan Family Dentistry different?

Galligan Family Dentistry is dedicated to providing your whole family with the best quality dental care in the area. Our family-friendly approach sets us apart from other practices, and our dedication to minimally invasive procedures gives dental patients of all ages peace of mind that they are receiving the sort of dental care that we would want for ourselves and our families.

We’re also realistic. We understand that everyone has busy schedules and hope to alleviate some daily stress by providing later appointments for more after school and work opportunities. In addition, our comforting and soothing atmosphere can calm even the dental anxieties. We offer relaxation techniques and simple, pain-free procedures that will put your mind at ease about visiting the dentist.

Finally, at Galligan Family Dentistry, we’ll treat you like family, and when was the last time a dental practice made you feel so welcome and at ease?

What does minimally invasive mean?

Minimally invasive dentistry is a new philosophy in the field that puts the preservation of a patient’s natural teeth at the top of a dentist’s priorities. Gone are the days of extracting a problem tooth. Minimally invasive dentists strive to preserve everyone’s teeth through modern preventive techniques and diagnosing and treating potentially complicated problems long before they become severe. With recent technological developments, we are able to preserve your natural teeth more often through less painful procedures. For more information on the minimally invasive services we currently offer, see our Patient Services section.

What safety precautions do you take for your patients?

Your safety and comfort are very important to us. We ensure that our practice exceeds all ADA and CDC standards for cleanliness and safety. Every instrument is sterilized and wrapped before your visit, and we use quality, disposable products when possible. We welcome pre-appointment visits to witness our immaculate office and infection control practices.

I don’t like visiting the dentist; what can you do to help me relax?

We know that visiting the dentist isn’t your favorite thing to do, so we’ve designed our practice around patient comfort. Our friendly staff will set you at ease from the moment you walk into our inviting waiting area, where you can help yourself to a drink from our complimentary beverage bar. Once you enter our spacious exam room, we can help you relax by offering XM radio through wireless headphones to take your mind off your anxieties. Our gentle attitude and touch is one of our greatest assets and we make every effort to ensure treatment is progressing at each patients pace and comfort.

We also use the WAND™, a computer controlled anesthesia that is more accurate, unintimidating, and far more comfortable than administering anesthesia with a traditional syringe.

Going to the dentist doesn’t have to be an anxious affair, and at Galligan Family Dentistry, we’ll prove it to you.

What age group do you specialize in working with?

We love to see patients of any age, from children to retirees! Our accommodating practice is created so that your entire family can receive dental services from the same provider without compromising anyone’s comfort, regardless of their age. We are well equipped to give early childhood check ups, to provide dentures, and to address all aspects of family dental care.

My child is five; is that too young for a check-up?

No! Galligan Family Dentistry follows the first visit by the first birthday recommendation from the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and will see all children for regular dental check ups. With our kid-friendly waiting room, complete with Xbox 360 and other fun toys and books, your child will look forward to coming to the dentist!

If your child is under five and requires invasive treatment, we will likely refer them to a children specialist for care and treatment designed especially for little bodies and small mouths.

I have a dental emergency. Can I just walk in the office?

Yes. We are equipped to deal with emergency dental problems and can get you into the office with minimal waiting.

If you need help immediately, contact us and follow these tips from the American Dental Association on how to handle a dental emergency.

What kind of payment options do you offer?

See our Financial Services page.

What are your hours?

We are conveniently open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

How far in advance do I need to call to schedule an appointment?

Where are you located?
